Hello, I'm Sofia
I work as a project manager, a parent, and an expat living in Madrid, Spain.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Spain wasn't in the long-range plan. Like countless expatriate relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far greater.
The early months were demanding — new processes, new routines, new expectations. Daily chores seemed more complicated than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was cultural adjustment, ambiguity, and a lot of learning on the job. Yet gradually routines took shape. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Built RivoraKalozelo
Most online guidance was either corporate relocation advice or shallow tourism content. What was lacking was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to close that gap — practical guidance grounded in real life in Spain.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site IS:
- Practical know-how drawn from living in Spain
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever real changes occur
This site ISN'T:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- Not a sponsored review platform
- Not just a generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in Spain continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains helpful, I will keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Madrid or anywhere in Spain, please get in touch.
